Aamli ni Chatni (Tamarind Chutney)

 

1 pound pitted dates

1 cup pani (water)

 

½ teaspoon marchu (cayenne pepper)

1 teaspoon dhaanaa jiru (coriander-cumin powder)

½ teaspoon mithu (salt)

1 teaspoon aamli (tamarind pulp)

1 teaspoon aadu (ginger)

 

1.       Heat water and soak the dates for half an hour. 

2.       Peel the soaked dates and ensure that each is pit-less. Save the water.

3.       Blend the dates, the soaking water, cayenne pepper, coriander cumin powder, salt, tamarind pulp & ginger.
