medium kaando (onion), chopped

teaspoon mithu (salt)

teaspoon garam masaalaa

teaspoon saaker (sugar)

teaspoon dhaanaa-jiru (powdered
coriander & cumin seeds)

cup tomato paste

large tametu (tomato), diced

cans chanaa (chick-peas),
drained
1. Sauté onions, carrots and green pepper
in oil till the onions are browned.
2. Add ginger, salt, garam masaalaa,
sugar, turmeric, cumin-coriander powder, tomato paste and tomato. Cook for 3 minutes.
3. Add the chick-peas and cook for an
additional 5 minutes.
